This Redboot binary was compiled from the content of the eCos anonymous CVS repository on August 29, 2001 for the Assabet target. To install Redboot in your Assabet's flash memory, you need the Jflash utility available from the same FTP site as where you found this Redboot file. This utility allows you to flash Redboot (or any other bootloader) via the JTAG cable hooked to your PC's parallel port. This cable is part if the Assabet's developers's kit. Read the documentation included in the Jflash archive for more details. Basically, you just need to execute the following command: Jflash-linux redboot.bin When completed, you'll need to reset your Assabet. Redboot uses the serial port at 38400 bauds, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, with all flow control settings turned off. Be sure you correctly set those parameters in your terminal program (such as minicom) before you reset the Assabet.
